| SANTA BARBARA, CA - (PR
NEWSWIRE) - JULY, 2009 - IntriPlex Technologies (IntriPlex)
announced today the achievement of a significant milestone
- designing, manufacturing and shipping over 8,000,000,000
(8 billion) components. IntriPlex, a leading manufacturing
firm serving data storage and medical device OEMs around
the globe, has been producing miniaturized, precision
metal components of exacting tolerances to enable devices
such as servers, desktops, laptops, portable drives and
medical components since 1987. |
| IntriPlex has entered
into a Collaboration Agreement with Northwestern University
and will pursue micro-stamping research under an NSF GOALI
grant expected to fund this July. The objective is to
understand the deformation mechanics and friction behavior
in microstamping of sheet metals, and to integrate the
findings to a control mechanism such the precision of
microstamping can be improved. Positive results will offer
significant manufacturing improvements and directly benefit
small precision components in multiple industries. Examples
include the Alternative Energy where stamping of microchannels
for fuel cells are needed to improve performance and offer
commercial viability, and Medical Devices where the miniaturization
insertion and delivery devices will enhance patient comfort
and increase compliance. |
| Manufacturing veteren,
Michael Lerdal, has joined IntriPlex Thailand as Product
Engineering Manager. Mr. Lerdal is a skilled mechanical
engineer with over 25 years experience in global high
volume manufacturing of various assemblies, sub-assemblies
and components. He has technical team leadership expertise
in the design, optimization, qualification and implementation
of various precision component manufacturing and component
assembly processes. |
